Young minds urged to dream beyond limits - Seed Co

Seed Co, Managing Director Felistus Ndawi-Gurajena has urged young people to embrace curiosity, discipline, and hard work as the true foundations of career success.
She made the remarks during the company's first-ever Career Guidance Day, which brought together children of employees and bursary recipients for a day of inspiration and exploration.
Addressing the audience, Ndawi-Gurajena emphasized that careers are journeys, not straight lines, reassuring those still uncertain about their futures that even many adults are still figuring things out.
"Your starting point does not determine your finishing point, what matters is your mindset, your effort, and your willingness to learn and grow," she said.
The program was designed to expose young people to the wide range of career opportunities available, even within a single organization.
Ndawi-Gurajena highlighted that behind every Seed Co seed lies a diverse team of professionals—scientists developing new varieties, agronomists working with farmers, engineers running processing plants, finance professionals managing investments, and ICT specialists handling systems and data.
She encouraged attendees to be curious, open-minded, and intentional about their futures, while also stressing that success is not about being the smartest person in the room. "It's about discipline, hard work, integrity, and consistency, if you build these qualities, you will succeed in any career you choose," she added.
Ndawi-Gurajena reminded the students of their privileged position in having access to education and exposure, urging them to use and maximize every opportunity.
"You are capable of more than you think," she concluded, maybe one day, some of you will be standing here—not as students—but as leaders of Seed Co or even your own companies," she concluded.
