​The Goat Breeders Association of Zimbabwe (GBAZ) is set to host a premier livestock event, the National Goat Showcase & Sale 2025, at the Grand Palm Lodge in Bulawayo on October 24, 2025.

Originally planned as an auction, the event has been converted to a dynamic Showcase & Sale, offering an unparalleled platform for the nation's goat industry.

The focus is squarely on “Preserving our Indigenous Goats—Understanding the Matebele & Mashona Breed Standards.”

​The day is packed with value, starting with a Keynote Address (9 AM-5 PM session) from Mr. Kenneth Chitando, the Managing Director of AFC Commercial Bank. 

His expertise in project finance, marketing, and enterprise development is crucial for breeders looking to scale their operations and elevate the goat industry to a serious commercial venture. 

The guest of honour for the event will be His Worship, the Mayor of Bulawayo, Senator David Coltart.

​The main Showcase & Sale kicks off at 3 PM. This is where the event's importance shines for all participants:

• ​For the Breeder/Seller: It is the ultimate stage to showcase top-quality breeding stock. 

• The Competition element allows breeders to gain recognition and champion titles, validating their genetics. 

• The Sale Zone provides a direct network with serious buyers, ensuring top prices for their best animals.

• ​For the Consumer/Buyer: This is a unique opportunity to experience the best goat genetics the country has to offer. Buyers meet leading goat breeders from all provinces and abroad, facilitating informed purchasing decisions based on the highest Matebele & Mashona breed standards. The ability to interact with Expert Judges (professional livestock experts) further assures quality.

​Entry for visitors is a valuable $20, which includes lunch, all will be free if you have an Indaba ticket, offering a full day of networking and learning.
