Global coalition issues urgent warning over West Bank annexation

​In a powerful display of diplomatic unity, Foreign Ministers from 19 nations—spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia—alongside the leadership of the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, have issued a joint statement condemning Israel's recent administrative shifts in the West Bank.

​The coalition, which includes nations such as France, Spain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil, characterized recent Israeli decisions as a "flagrant violation of international law."

The statement specifically highlights the reclassification of Palestinian land as Israeli "state land" and the acceleration of settlement activity as a deliberate strategy of de facto annexation.

​The ministers expressed particular alarm over the approval of the E1 project, a controversial settlement plan that critics argue would effectively bisect the West Bank.

By altering the demographic composition and physical landscape of the territory, the coalition argues that Israel is launching a "direct attack" on the viability of a future Palestinian State.

​Beyond territorial concerns, the joint statement addressed several critical points of regional friction:

• ​Settler Violence: A call for Israel to end violence against Palestinian civilians and hold perpetrators accountable.

• ​Financial Stability: An immediate demand for the release of withheld tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority, which are essential for basic services in both Gaza and the West Bank.

• ​Religious Status Quo: A reaffirmation of the Hashemite custodianship of Holy Sites in Jerusalem, particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

​The signatories reiterated that lasting peace is only possible through a Two-State Solution based on the 1967 borders.

They warned that current Israeli policies not only undermine the "20 Point Plan for Gaza" but also threaten the broader goal of regional integration.

​The message from the international community is clear: the status of the Palestinian Territory must be preserved through international law, and the path toward a sovereign, democratic Palestinian State remains the only viable route to regional stability.
