NetOne Pioneers Inclusive Healthcare with Telemedicine Booth in Bulilima

​In a powerful demonstration of corporate commitment to social development, NetOne has inaugurated a cutting-edge Telemedicine booth in Bulilima, championing inclusive healthcare and directly aligning with Zimbabwe’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind. 

This landmark initiative, a strategic partnership with ZimSmart Village, brings specialist medical consultations to the community’s doorstep, leveraging technology to dismantle geographical barriers to quality health services.

​The launch, which drew an audience of over 1000 people, highlighted how public-private partnerships are pivotal to achieving the goals of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and the overarching Vision 2030. 

The event was graced by high-level officials, including the Guest of Honour, Deputy Minister Honourable Dingumuzi Phuthi, and Minister of Commerce and Industry, Honourable Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, underscoring strong governmental support.

​In a speech delivered on his behalf by NetOne Public Relations Manager Mr. Ernest Magadzire, NetOne Group CEO, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, reiterated the company's role as a partner for sustainable development. 

The booth, operating under the flagship banner OneHealth, is a prime example of NetOne "leveraging our robust network to bridge critical gaps." 

The facility allows a resident in Bulilima to consult with a specialist in Bulawayo or Harare, ensuring "that distance no longer dictates the quality of healthcare one receives."

​The initiative strongly supports the national telemedicine drive championed by the First Lady and Ambassador for Health, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa.

Significantly, this facility is not just a general healthcare solution; it is also a vital new weapon in the national anti-drug fight. As the 11th such booth nationally, it offers a confidential and immediate connection to professional help, counselling, and psychiatric support to combat drug and substance abuse—a pressing social ill.

​Alderman Land Ndebele of the Bulilima Rural District Council expressed profound gratitude, calling it a "significant investment in the health and future of our people." Technical partner founder, Dr. Jokwiro of ZimSmart Village, encouraged community members, particularly men, to actively use the technology to "proactively check on their health, breaking the stigma of silence."

​By establishing this state-of-the-art facility, NetOne solidifies its position as a key enabler of a healthier, more inclusive future for all Zimbabweans, proving that connectivity is a powerful prescription for community well-being.
