Following its 9th Annual General Meeting on August 8, 2025, NetOne has solidified its position as a key driver of Zimbabwe’s digital transformation.
The AGM highlighted a year of remarkable growth and reinforced the company's commitment to both commercial success and national development, guided by a purpose-driven strategy and visionary leadership.
The company's strategic focus on digital connectivity is paying dividends, as evidenced by a remarkable 110% growth in data revenue.
This surge reflects the increasing reliance of Zimbabweans on digital platforms for work, education, and communication. To meet this demand, NetOne expanded its network by rolling out 86 new sites, including 264 LTE and 16 5G-enabled base stations, ensuring every new site offers at least 4G capability.
This investment in modern infrastructure is a testament to the company’s dedication to providing fast, reliable, and inclusive service to all Zimbabweans.
Beyond its commercial achievements, NetOne’s social impact initiatives were a central theme of the AGM.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the company undertook numerous projects to uplift communities. In pursuit of SDG 4, NetOne renovated five rural schools and launched computer labs to bridge the digital divide. To advance SDG 3, they capacitated clinics and hospitals and launched five virtual telemedicine hospitals.
The #ImpactingLives campaign, aligned with SDG 5 and SDG 10, provided essential support to people with albinism and distributed sanitary wear to girls. Additionally, NetOne installed 16 solar-powered nutritional gardens and drilled 20 boreholes across the country, tackling food and water security (SDG 2, 6, 13).
These interventions underscore NetOne's role as a national development partner, actively contributing to Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).
Financially, the AGM confirmed a 62% increase in revenue and a healthy 68% rise in EBITDA, demonstrating operational efficiency and a resilient commercial model.
With strong support from the Mutapa Investment Fund and the leadership of Group CEO Eng. Raphael Mushanawani, NetOne is poised for continued growth. The company’s forward-looking roadmap includes launching cloud-based enterprise services and specialized IoT offerings, further cementing its commitment to empowering a digitally connected and prosperous Zimbabwe where no one is left behind.
