Cleaner, Greener CBD

NetOne, in partnership with the City of
Harare, spearheaded a dynamic clean-up campaign in Harare’s Central Business
District (CBD), breathing new life into the urban landscape.
Held on the first Friday of the month, the
initiative aligns with Zimbabwe’s national clean-up programme and brought
together an inspiring mix of NetOne staff, City of Harare officials, and informal
traders.
Armed with brooms, gloves, and
determination, participants took to the streets to sweep, collect litter, and
revitalize public spaces.
The event showcased not only a commitment to
environmental cleanliness but also a powerful display of unity and shared
responsibility.
The campaign forms part of NetOne’s broader
Corporate Social Responsibility efforts under its Environmental Sustainability
pillar.
By promoting consistent, hands-on action,
the organization emphasizes that even the smallest contributions can spark
meaningful, long-term change.
The energy in the CBD was electric, as
volunteers worked shoulder to shoulder, driven by a shared vision of a cleaner
and healthier city.
What began as a clean-up quickly transformed
into a powerful moment of community engagement and civic pride.
City officials reminded participants that
this is an ongoing movement, taking place every first Friday of the month, and
urged all citizens to get involved. The message was clear—building a better
city is a collective effort.
The initiative also drew spontaneous participation
from passersby, a testament to its contagious spirit.
As NetOne and the City of Harare continue to
lead by example, they are demonstrating that real transformation happens when
communities, businesses, and authorities come together.
Through this partnership, a cleaner, greener CBD is no longer just an aspiration—it’s becoming a reality.
