The highly anticipated 65th edition of the Castle Tankard is set to take place on May 10th, 2025, marked by the inspiring theme, "The Legacy Continues." This iconic racing event, held annually in Zimbabwe, has become a cornerstone of the local sporting calendar, drawing horse racing enthusiasts and families alike.

This year’s event is a proud partnership between the Mashonaland Turf Club and Delta Beverages, reflecting a collaborative effort to elevate the racing experience.

Scott Bucchan, a representative of the Mashonaland Turf Club, expressed enthusiasm about the preparations, confirming that everything is progressing smoothly and at an advanced stage.

"We are thrilled with how preparations are coming along, and we can't wait to host an exciting event," Bucchan said.

The 2025 race will feature a competitive field of 16 talented runners, promising exhilarating competition for spectators.

With a prize purse of US$50,000, the Castle Tankard continues to attract top-tier horses and jockeys, eager to etch their names into racing history.

Last year’s winning horse, Raffles, will be remembered as a formidable contender, setting high standards for this year's competitors.

Beyond the racing action, the event promises entertainment for the whole family, making it a festive occasion for all attendees.

Fans can look forward to a day filled with thrilling races, lively entertainment, and a celebration of Zimbabwe’s rich horse racing heritage.
