Palestine Embassy in Zimbabwe condemns Gaza blockade

The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Zimbabwe has issued a strong condemnation of Israel's decision to halt humanitarian aid and close all border crossings to the Gaza Strip, labelling it a "crime against humanity."

Ambassador Tamer Almassri, speaking on behalf of the embassy, denounced the Israeli government's actions, including the blockage of water, food, and electricity, as a form of collective punishment.

The embassy asserts that the Israeli blockade violates international law and demands accountability under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

They argue that Israel's actions pose a significant threat to regional peace and stability.

The embassy has urgently called upon the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to intervene and end what they describe as "ongoing genocide" and "crimes against humanity" in Gaza.

The State of Palestine emphasizes the international community’s moral obligation to address the escalating humanitarian crisis.

They stress the need for a permanent ceasefire and establishing conditions for recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.

Furthermore, they insist that Israel must be held accountable for its violations of international law.

The embassy's statement underscores the severe suffering inflicted upon the civilian population of Gaza and calls for immediate, decisive action to prevent further atrocities.

The message is clear: the world cannot remain silent in the face of such inhumane treatment.
