Palestinian prisoners face systematic torture and death in Israeli jails

The Palestinian Embassy vehemently condemns the systematic torture and killing of 58 Palestinian detainees by Israeli authorities, with hundreds more forcibly disappeared and unaccounted for.

Autopsies reveal a disturbing trend: most deaths are directly attributed to torture, deliberate medical neglect, or a combination of both, highlighting the inhumane treatment of prisoners.

Ambassador Tamer Almassri describes the current situation as the worst in history, with numerous detainees killed in custody under suspicious circumstances involving severe torture and ill-treatment, including manipulation, rape, beatings, forced nudity, video recording, and humiliation. 

Despite video evidence of these atrocities, Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, have defended these actions.

Released prisoners often suffer from chronic diseases and health problems resulting from torture, medical negligence, and starvation during their imprisonment. 

Many require immediate hospitalization upon release. 

Israeli authorities also perpetrate organized terrorism against detainees' families, subjecting them to threats of arrest, killing, house raids, vandalism, and property destruction, often manipulating their emotions.

Over 10,400 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in Israeli jails, including 87 women, at least 320 children, and 3,376 administrative detainees (95 children and 22 women) held without charge or trial.

This number is likely higher due to Israel's refusal to disclose information on all Gaza detainees.

The State of Palestine urges the international community to demand an immediate end to the torture and ill-treatment of Palestinian prisoners, hold Israel accountable for violating international humanitarian law, and conduct a transparent investigation into prisoner deaths and torture allegations. 

Immediate international action is crucial to stop these abuses and ensure justice for Palestinian prisoners.
